Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced $23 million in awards for projects in ten states. The awards were provided through EDA’s FY 2025 Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance programs, which leverage existing regional assets and support the implementation of economic development strategies to support distressed communities.
The EDA awards announced today are:
- Panhandle Area Council, Inc. (Boundary County, Idaho): $4.0 million to capitalize a Revolving Loan Fund and provide critically needed funds to viable businesses across five counties in Idaho and two counties in Washington.
- Build Pagosa, Inc. (Pagosa Springs, Colorado): $2.7 million for construction of a workforce development facility to meet local demand in the healthcare and construction industries.
- Holmes County Commissioners (Millersburg, Ohio): $2.5 million for wastewater infrastructure improvements to support local industries.
- Southeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facility Authority (Monticello, Arkansas): $1.9 million for water infrastructure improvements to support the local manufacturing industry.
- Muskogee City-County Port Authority (Fort Gibson, Oklahoma): $1.8 million for stormwater infrastructure improvements to support the local petroleum industry.
- Culver-Stockton College (Canton, Missouri): $1.6 million for construction of a nursing training facility and to create jobs in the healthcare industry.
- Baker Technical Institute (Tulare, California): $1.5 million to support workforce development in the local construction industry.
- Concord Water and Sewer Public Facilities Board (Van Buren, Arkansas): $1.5 million for wastewater infrastructure improvements to support local industries.
- South Plains College (Levelland, Texas): $1.5 million for construction of a new truck driving facility and to support workforce development in the region.
- Neodesha, Kansas: $1.4 million for roadway infrastructure improvements to support the local manufacturing industry.
- Russia, Ohio: $1.1 million for construction of a new 45-acre industrial park to support business expansion, create jobs, and foster private investment in the region.
- Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments (Auburn, Maine): $1.0 million to capitalize a Revolving Loan Fund and support small, local businesses in the region.
“The investments we are announcing today will provide communities with resources and infrastructure they need to attract and retain new businesses, create jobs, and spur private investment,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Operating Officer Ben Page, performing the nonexclusive duties and functions of the Assistant Secretary.
