Timely Submission is Critical

All organizations must prepare and submit their Applications within their assigned window. Submissions outside of the designated timeframe will result in loss of CDFI Certification. No grace periods or deadline extensions will be granted, except for Applicants who submitted during the 2024 early Application submission period and were declined.

To avoid delays, organizations should begin preparing now to ensure all components of their Applications are complete and accurate.

Section Zero Applications were due on May 16, 2025 for organizations with a fiscal year that ended on December 31, 2024; February 28, 2025; or March 312025. Organizations that failed to submit a Section Zero Application can no longer seek a Section Zero determination from the CDFI Fund.

For organizations with a fiscal year that ended on April 30, 2025; May 31, 2025; or June 30, 2025, your Section Zero Application submission deadline is August 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Use the Most Recent Versions of Application Materials

Applicants must use the most recent versions of the CDFI Certification Application and Transaction Level Report (TLR) templates available in AMIS. Templates downloaded or initiated in 2024 or early 2025 will not reflect updates made to improve the system and reduce errors. This guidance extends to the Target Market Calculator. Applicants should rerun the Target Market Calculator prior to submission of the CDFI Certification Application to ensure the latest Target Market Activity percentages are included in the Application.
