CDFI Fund: New Certified CDFI Logo Debuts to Help Illustrate Impact

More than 400 representatives of Certified CDFIs voted on the image they liked best to represent themselves to their customers and the public. Nearly 64 percent of them chose this winning design, which beautifully evokes a sense of community.

With the roll out of this new logo, it’s a good time to reflect on the meaning of certification. CDFI certification signals the commitment that is made to a primary mission of promoting community development.  It means that the certified organization acts purposefully to improve the social and economic conditions of underserved communities, including offering responsible and affordable financial products and services, offering development services alongside those products and services, and holding themselves accountable to target markets in meaningful ways.

There are now more than 1,100 financial institutions that are bound by these shared values.  I look forward to seeing how current and new CDFIs continue to grow and increase their impact!

Authorized representatives of currently certified CDFIs should have received the new logo and an accompanying resource guide from our Office of Certification, Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation earlier this week. If you did not receive it, or if you have any questions about the logo or how to use it, please reach out to our Help Desk at cdfihelp@cdfi.treas.gov.
