FEMA: President Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for North Dakota

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of North Dakota to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by flooding from March 21-April 28, 2019.

Federal funding is available to the state, eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by flooding in Adams, Barnes, Cass, Dickey, Emmons, Grand Forks, Grant, Hettinger, LaMoure, Logan, McKenzie, Morton, Pembina, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Steele, Traill, and Walsh counties.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.

Thomas C. Carroll has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area. Carroll said additional designations may be made at a later date if warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
