FEMA: President Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for Montana

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Montana to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by flooding on March 20 to April 10, 2019.

The President’s action makes federal funding available to state, eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and repair or replacement of facilities damaged by flooding in Daniels, Lake, McCone, Park, Powder River, Stillwater, Treasure, and Valley counties.

Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.

Nathan Knapp has been named as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area. Knapp said additional designations may be made at a later date if warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
