The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently launched an 18-state road tour, with a visit scheduled for Jackson, MS on Thursday, April 19, 2018. This will be the fourth year of the SBIR Road Tour, led by the SBA’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, with participation from the 11 other federal agencies.
Each SBIR Road Tour stop will be hosted by a local organization committed to supporting technology-based entrepreneurship, and provides attendees an opportunity to meet directly with federal agency Program Managers and decision makers.
The Southern Tour will run from April 16-20, with stops in Chattanooga, Tenn., Huntsville, Ala., Little Rock, Ark., Jackson, Miss., and Baton Rouge, La.
The SBIR Road Tour is a national outreach effort to convey the non-dilutive technology funding opportunity provided through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Federal and State Program Managers representing the $2.5 billion in early stage funding have been invited to attend a series of events alongside technology entrepreneurs and innovation supporters from across the United States. The highly competitive SBIR/STTR programs together account for more than 160,000 awards totaling approximately $40 billion. These awards have helped U.S. innovators advance new technologies that help make the U.S. more globally competitive.
