WASHINGTON — In recognition of American Housing Month, the American Bankers Association Foundation and banks across the country are offering consumers valuable housing information throughout the month of June. The ABA Foundation will provide renters and homeowners with tips for choosing the right home, saving for a down payment and preparing a senior to ‘age in place.’
“There is no one-size-fits-all approach to housing,” said Corey Carlisle, executive director of the ABA Foundation. “As a part of American Housing Month, we celebrate housing choices and aim to provide consumers with the practical tools and resources they need to make the right housing decisions for themselves and their families.”
Throughout the month, the ABA Foundation will provide a variety of resources – including tip sheets in English and Spanish — to help educate consumers on the issues and options of housing. These materials will cover the following topics:
- Choosing your first home;
- Improving your credit score;
- Saving for a down payment;
- Understanding basic housing terminology;
- Helping seniors live at home longer;
- And more.
