Census Bureau: Upcoming Webinar on Accessing American Community Survey Statistics in API

What:

The U.S. Census Bureau is hosting a webinar June 21 on Using the Census API With the American Community Survey. Users will learn how to access and use the Census Bureau’s application programming interface with statistics from the American Community Survey, identify survey variables and geographies to build queries, and locate additional resources.

Through the API, the Census Bureau is offering the public wider access to key U.S. statistics. In May 2017 alone, users accessed the Census Bureau API 33,548,777 times. Since 2009, users have accessed the API 3,025,612,099 times.

The API lets developers create custom apps to reach new users and makes key demographic, social, economic and housing statistics more accessible than ever before. Access to this information also allows developers to design web and mobile apps to explore or learn more about America’s changing population and economy. Currently available statistics provide key demographic and economic information on the nation, its neighborhoods and areas in between.
