HUD: Disaster Assistance Announced for Washington Disaster Survivors

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today announced the implementation of federal disaster assistance to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by flooding and mudslides from November 13 to November 15, 2021.

On January 5, President Biden issued a major disaster declaration for the counties of Clallam, Skagit, and Whatcom and the Lummi Nation, Nooksack Indian Tribe, and Quileute Tribe.

Federal funding, provided by FEMA, is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide. Effective immediately, HUD is:
